14YO Naamya becomes youngest Indian shooter to win international medal

Naamya Kapoor had a very busy Monday as she made million heads turn when she won women’s 25m pistol gold on Monday at ISSF Junior World Championships, Lima.

She took everyone by surprise by defeating many experienced shooters, including Manu Bhaker.

France’s Camille Jedrzejewski came second. The 19 years old scored 33 while Naamya had 36.

Manu Bhaker came third, settled for bronze with the score of 31.

Rhythm Sangwan came fourth after shooting 27.

This is Naamya’s first international tournament after making it into the team this August.
