Australia win the 3rd Test and retain Men’s Ashes, thanks to yet another abysmal show from the visiting batters.
Batting first, England managed only 185, despite making multiple changes to their playing eleven. Zak Crawley opened the innings, Jonny Bairstow was brought in as well.
Pat Cummins, who missed the Adelaide Test, was back to captain the Boxing Day Test and started off the proceedings by dismissing Haseeb Hameed. It was the 50th duck of the year in Men’s Test for England.
After Cummins attack, other bowlers joined the party to reduce the visitors to just 185. In return, Marcus Harris had 76 while Warner made 38. Little cameos from the middle and lower order helped Australia to reach 267.
The debutant Scott Boland, who had a wicket in the first innings, proved too good for the England batters. He ran through the batting order, ended with 6/7 from his four overs as Australia reduced England to just 68 and took the Ashes convincingly.
Boland was the player of the match for his brilliant spell.
