Rafa Nadal lifts French Open for 14th time

Rafael Nadal defeats Casper Ruud to win his 14th Roland Garros title and takes his Grand Slam tally to 22.

Nadal broke early in the 1st set and went 2-0 up. Ruud broke back immediately but Nadal took another break which was enough for the former World Number one to take the 1st set 6-3.

The Norwegian saved multiple break points to hold the 1st game of the 2nd set. He then went on to break Nadal to go 3-1 in the 2nd set.

However, Nadal won two games in a row and took 4-3 lead and then produced some stunning shots to take the 2nd set 6-3.

The third set was all about Nadal as he dominated right from the start. Multiple unforced errors from Ruud made it easier for Nadal as well.

He then took the final set by 6-0, winning his 14th Roland Garros title.
