Railways continued their dominance in the Senior one day trophy once again as they win back to back trophy. Karnataka, who had an excellent season so far, couldn’t put up a fight against the defending champions.
Renuka Singh ran through the batting order of Karnataka early in the innings, removed four players during her first spell. She had good support from Sneh Rana and then Swagatika Rath who grabbed two wickets each. Karnataka could really recover from the early loss as they got out for just 74. Niki Prasad was the leading run-scorer for the team with 21 runs to her name.
In return, Meghana began her innings as if she wanted to finish the match quickly. Punam Raut was the first wicket to fall but that didn’t do much damage for the chase. Nuzhat Parween then joined Meghana, the tournament’s leading run-scorer. Meghana then got out for 36 and in the end, Hemalatha finished off with a couple of fours and a six as the team chased down the total in 23 overs.
