Sri Lankan bowlers stood up for the day as the hosts went on to win the final T20I to take the series 2-1.
India, who have already lost a few players, had to bring in Sandeep Warrier into the team for the final T20I. The visitors batted first and they had no answers for the Sri Lankan bowlers.
Soon, the team found themselves at 36 for 5 with only Ruturaj Gaikwad getting into the double-digit in the top order. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav then added the important runs to the team as they got to 81 in their 20 overs.
In return, Sri Lanka didn’t sweat much as there wasn’t much on the board. However, Rahul Chahar’s spell gave India a glimpse of hope as the youngster grabbed three wickets from his four overs.
Unfortunately, there were not many runs on board for the team to push through the overs. Thus, Sri Lanka went on to win by seven wickets within 15 overs.
