Indian cricketers Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur will be returning home ahead of the Australia tour.
Smriti Mandhana will be returning home in order to spend more time with her family ahead of the Australian tour.
“I would love to be able to stay with the team until the final but we’ve been away from home for a long time with more tours ahead. I’ll be watching the team at Lord’s and hoping they can continue our good form. It’s been a fantastic competition to be involved in and I’ve really enjoyed it,” Mandhana said.
Southern Brave is the first team to qualify for knockouts. Mandhana scored a half-century in the last contest to make it happen. Ireland’s all-rounder Gaby Lewis will be replacing Mandhana for the remaining games.
On the other hand, Harmanpreet Kaur will be returning home as well. Kaur has picked up an injury and will be home earlier than expected. Manchester Originals are already out of the tournament and has a couple of matches left in the group stages.
BCCI will be holding a camp ahead of the Australian tour. Close to 30 players will be attending the camp and that includes those who are in England as well. Apart from those in England, other players have already entered quarantine ahead of the training.
The team is likely to leave Australia by the end of August.
