The Hundred, Southern Brave vs Welsh Fire: Brave win by 8 wickets

Welsh Fire went down for the second time in the tournament and this time, they lost to Southern Brave. Specifically to Smriti Mandhana.

Batting first, Welsh Fire made only 110 from their 100 deliveries. Hayley Matthews batted well for 33 and Georgia Hennessy added 23*, in the end, to take the team to a decent total.

Lauren Bell and Amanda Jade Wellington were too good for the batters as they both ended picking two wickets each.

In return, Welsh Fire couldn’t do much as Smriti Mandhana began to take on them right from ball one. Others played a perfect second fiddle to her and made sure to return the strike to her.

The team had Danni Wyatt, thanks to Sarah Taylor’s brilliance and they also lost Sophia Dunkley early.

However, it wasn’t much of a trouble as the Indian opener made sure to make the home safe.

Smriti returns with 61* from just 39 deliveries with 5 fours and 3 sixes.
