ENG v WI, 3rd Test, Day 2: Bowlers put England on top

The West Indies batters couldn’t convert their starts as England bowlers did well to put the team in a commanding position.

The day began with Pope and Buttler who managed to score fifty-plus each. However, both the batters got out early on the day with Gabriel dismissing them both. Later, Roach had two wickets to complete his four-fer. He also crossed 200 wickets in Tests, and is the first man to do so in recent times.

Broad was the show-stealer today with his 45-ball 62. He got out to Chase and the team managed to get to 369.

Broad then returned to dismiss Brathwaite early and Archer dismissed Campbell. Hope once again fell cheaply and Brooks followed him. Both fell to Anderson.

Chase, who had a good 2nd Test couldn’t make an impact here with the bat as he fell soon too. Blackwood had 26 before he got out to Woakes.

Holder once again had start and is still batting at 24. Dowrich is at crease with unbeaten 10, he scored two fours.

The West Indies ended their day with 137 for 6 and still has a long way to go. England certainly will be glad with how the day went.
