IND vs ENG, 5th T20I- All-round India seal the series

In recent times, India currently has made it a habit to make comebacks from nowhere to seal victories. This series is one of them as well.

After losing the 1st and 3rd match, India bounced back to grab the series by winning the decider by 36 runs.

Batting first, India’s intent was very clear, to add important runs in the powerplay. Right from ball one, Rohit Sharma showed the intent and he was accompanied by Virat Kohli who had opened the innings.

India went in with an extra pacer, dropped KL Rahul for Natarajan. Sharma began the show by taking on the bowlers, had 5 sixes and 4 fours for his 34-ball 64. Soon, Suryakumar Yadav took over, had 17-ball 32. He had to go because of the stunning catch by Jordan and Roy.

After his dismissal, Hardik Pandya scored 4 fours and 2 sixes to accompany his captain.

Virat Kohli, who had the best seat, took on the bowlers later in the innings, had 52 balls 80* with 7 fours and 2 sixes. India ended with 224 in their 20 overs.

Chasing a big total, the visitors needed something special but Bhuvneshwar Kumar didn’t allow the same and got rid of Roy immediately in the 1st over.

However, Buttler and Malan turned things around for England, added 130 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar once again gave India the breakthrough, got out Buttler for 52.

Soon, Thakur dismissed Bairstow and Malan in the same over which turned things around for the team.

After that over, England couldn’t recover and went 36 runs short of the total to give India the series.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar stood out as the best bowler in this match with 2/15 when every single over was taken for runs.
