NZ vs AUS, 3rd ODI- Australia win the series by 3-0

Australia pulled off yet another victory against hosts New Zealand to extend their record of consecutive wins in ODIs to 24-0.

The match was delayed due to the rain and was reduced to 25 overs.

Batting first, Australia began just like one would expect them to, had Healy and Mooney taking on the bowlers.

Healy made 46 while Mooney had 28. Soon, the hosts bounced back to pick up wickets and it was Kasperek once again who did the trick for the hosts.

She ended up with 3 for 25 from her five overs and Tahuhu had two wickets.

Australia had managed to score 149 from their 25 overs, some 30 runs higher than what New Zealand would have liked.

Batting next, the team couldn’t get going and ended up wasting deliveries. The ever-rising run-rate added more pressure on the batters and in the end, they began to lose wickets while trying harder.

It was Megan Schutt and Georgia Wareham had 2 wickets each while Jonassen, Carey, Gardner had one wicket each.

While the lower order batters tried hard to get closer to the total, it was too late for the team as they ended up 21 runs short of the target.
