Why didn’t I dive: Dhoni breaks his silence on WC19 semi-final run-out

India had a great 2019 World Cup until the semi-final. In the semi-final, they met New Zealand and the team couldn’t successfully chase 240 on a tricky surface. While India was down and out after losing wickets early, Ravi Jadeja and MS Dhoni brought the team back and the Indian fans thought that the duo could have pulled it off. Unfortunately, they couldn’t and Dhoni’s run-out is one of the hardest moments for the fans in 2019.

Dhoni hasn’t opened up about the run-out and he wasn’t seen in the international circuit since then. Talking about the run-out for the first time, Dhoni said that he kept telling himself why he didn’t dive.

“I keep telling myself, why didn’t I dive. Those two inches I keep telling myself, ‘MS Dhoni, you should have dived,” Dhoni told Majumdar.

There is no further update on Dhoni’s return to international cricket. However, he will lead Chennai Super Kings once again in the upcoming season.
