Women’s cricket team fined for wearing wrong uniforms during charity match!

A women’s cricket team has been fined for wearing the incorrect uniform during a charity match raising money for the bushfire.

Players wore pink hats, face paint and feather-boas as took part in the Southern Spirit Cricket Club’s Women’s T20 Pink Stumps Day on January 11.

The event collected more than $5000 and a team was fined $1000 as they wore pink Hawaiian shirts over their uniforms.

The captain was also suspended for four games.

The dress code for the match was strict and the players were expected to wear something in cream or white. However, the management accepted a few coloured clothing.

Cricket NSW told 2GB that the Southern Spirit Cricket Club ignored the association’s repeated requests that the Club not wear Hawaiian shirts.
The club was subsequently fined $1,000.
Central Coast Cricket Association will donate the $1,000 fine, in the name of Southern Spirit Cricket Club, to the McGrath Foundation.
