Thiem will meet Djokovic for the Australian Open title

Thiem once again produced his A-game to outlast his opponent and this time it was Alexander Zverev who was at the receiving end. The match was one close affair with both the players giving it all.

After going down in the first set, Thiem had to produce some unbelievable points to get back into the game. Zverev, however, had answers for almost every single shot, still, fell short before Thiem’s brilliance.

The 26-year-old fifth seed, the first player from Austria ever to reach the Melbourne decider, battled past seventh-ranked Zverev 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7/3), 7-6 (7/4) on a sweltering evening.

He now will face Novak Djokovic in the final on Sunday.
