Reports: BCCI plans to conduct IPL from September 26 to November 8

BCCI has reportedly zeroed the tentative schedule for the 13th edition of Indian Premier League.

After several meetings, the board has finalized the window from September 26th to November 8th.

If everything goes well, 60 matches will be conducted in 44 days.

The IPL 2020 which was supposed to happen earlier was postponed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.

Now that the World Cup T20 unlikely to happen, India will be going ahead with the IPL. However, the official news for the same is yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, the sponsors and the broadcasters are unhappy with the schedule. Since Diwali is on November 14, the broadcasters want the BCCI to push the tournament a week later so that the broadcasters can make use of the Diwali weekend and can compensate the loss they faced during the pandemic.

BCCI, however, is unlikely to move the date because India have a series against Australia coming up in December. The first Test of the tour will begin by December 4.

Due to the health concerns because of COVID19, the cricketers must reach Australia in advance.

However, there is no official news on any of the tournament and the rising cases of COVID19 is a concern.
