The Indian team has once again rattled West Indies to take the series 2-0. With this win, Virat Kohli becomes the Indian captain with most Test wins with 28 wins from 48 matches.
After scoring 416 in the first innings of the Test, India managed to dismiss the hosts for just 117. Virat Kohli did not enforce the follow-on but batted. After scoring an excellent ton in the first innings, Vihari scored an unbeaten fifty alongside Rahane who crossed the fifty as well. India declared 168 for 4 in the second innings.
Chasing a mammoth total, West Indies showed a better temperant while batting in the second innings but it wasn’t enough as they lost wickets in the regular intervals.
Bravo, who was showing some resistance along with Brooks was hit by Bumrah’s bouncer and was immediately replaced by Blackwood as a concussion replacement.
Blackwood also did comparatively well by scoring 38 but as said, it wasn’t enough when chasing a big total. In the end, despite Brooks’s 50 and Holder’s 39, West Indies were dismissed for 210.
With this win, India becomes the first team to win a series in the Test championship, Virat Kohli becomes India’s most successful Test captain, India whitewashed a team in a complete series for the first time since 2017.
