Possibly in the form of her life, Devine has once again made sure to take her team home with an unbeaten 75 that included two big sixes as well.
Batting first, Hasini Perera and Chamari Athapaththu started off pretty well adding 60 runs for the first wicket. Amelia Kerr produced the breakthrough dismissing Perera for 20. Sanjeewani then joined Athapaththu and when one thought that Sri Lanka was cutting loose there, Athapaththu got out for an easy return catch to Tahuhu at 41.
Jensen then turned the match around with her beautiful over where she picked up two wickets to put the White Ferns on top. After that, Sri Lanka couldn’t bounce back and they got reduced to 127 in their 20 overs.
Chasing the tricky total, New Zealand lost Priest and Bates early. However, the team was looking confident, thanks to Devine and Green who took the match closer. Devine who once again showed how great she is, scored an unbeaten 75, eventually took the team home.
Devine now is the first player to score six fifty-plus scores on the trot and her scores look like this- 72, 54*, 61, 77, 105, 75*. Nobody has more than four fifty-plus scores on the trot.
