Coronavirus: New Zealand comes up with Teddy spotting during isolation

New Zealand began their four weeks lockdown recently and the people are allowed outside either to exercise or to join the ‘bear hunt’.

Inspired by the children’s book “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt,” written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Helen Oxenbury, New Zealand have come up with ‘bear hunting’ to keep people entertained during their lockdown.

Teddy bears are seen everywhere, on the trees, inside the window, gates etc. The teddies are hung upside down as well.

The bear hunt aims to give families in COVID-19 restriction an activity to keep occupied. It involves spotting teddy bears – and other soft toys – arranged in windows, or otherwise, during walks around their neighbourhoods.

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern is overwhelmed by the response and also said the people to watch out for her window because she is participating as well.
