Wasim Akram, Babar Azam to conduct online sessions for Pakistan Women’s team

To keep the women’s team motivated and in good spirits amidst the pandemic the Pakistan Cricket Board has arranged online sessions with Wasim Akram and Babar Azam.

More than 35 current and emerging cricketers will undergo these sessions through video conferencing. They will be provided ideas and insights on how to approach different match situation and so on.

Cricket Country reported that Pakistani cricketers are looking forward to the sessions.

According to the portal, Aliya Riaz said that it will be a great opportunity and she is eager to learn from the greats of the game and understand the work ethic that made him stand apart. “I have grown up watching videos of Wasim Akram and how he brought laurels for Pakistan with both bat and ball from some adverse of situations,” she said.

Omaima Sohail had said that the session with Babar will help the batters a great deal on how they can continue to imporve themselves.

The Chair of the National Women’s Selection Committee Urooj Mumtaz said that it was extremely for cricketers develop themselves in this phase where cricket is on hold and it will be beneficial in that aspect.

“We keep looking for ideas to keep the players engaged and motivated. Fitness plans have been provided to both the senior and junior group of players and they have been working at home to ensure they are ready once the situation normalises.”

She said that sessions with Akram and Babar will provide players an opportunity to learn from the best and they will continue bring the Pakistani legends on board if required for the benifit of the players.
