Kenya: 9YO builds wooden hand washing machine, wins presidential award

A nine years old boy from Kenya surprised everyone by building a wooden hand washing machine in order to prevent the spread of COVID19.

Stephen Wamukota, from Bungoma County in western Kenya, was the youngest of 68 people to receive the award from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Wamukota built a semi-automatic machine to help curb Covid-19 in Kenya, which has reported more than 2,000 confirmed cases.

According to his father, who is working in electronics shop, his son learnt about COVID19 and the safety measures on local TV channel. He began to take things seriously and he made wooden hand washing machine all by himself.

He also added that he had wood to repair his window but is proud of his son.

The Government also promised educational scholarship for the kid.
