10th June 2018: Devine’s blistering 108 off 61 against Ireland!

On this day, 10th June 2018, Sophie Devine scored a blistering 108 off 61 deliveries against Ireland.

After missing out the previous match where New Zealand brought their highest ODI total of 491, Devine was the protagonist in crushing Ireland this time.

In the Bates-less match, Devine started slowly with 5 off 12 deliveries and almost ran herself out. After that, there were no chances. She dominated every single bowler. Her knock had 13 fours and six sixes. She brought up her fifty on her 35th delivery. What followed was six fours and three sixes and she got to the triple-figure mark, taking only 25 deliveries for the second fifty. Jess Watkins was glad to give the strike back to Devine and scored 23 off 24 deliveries. Devine also had a 93-run partnership with Maddy Green.

New Zealand reached their second consecutive 400+ runs, this time they scored 418.

Chasing a mammoth total, Ireland once again lost early wickets. Delany (33), Joyce (26), Kavanagh (18) had the starts, but couldn’t convert to a big score as Ireland fell 306 runs short of the total.

-New Zealand had exactly 50 fours in this match.
