Hamstring is absolutely fine: Rohit Sharma

Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma recently injured his hamstring and had to miss a few contests in the IPL. Soon, he also missed out the berth to the Australia tour which did raise a lot of questions.

Right after he was missed out, Mumbai Indians took to social media to share a video of Rohit Sharma training. Later, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly told that Rohit Sharma was injured and that is why he wasn’t picked for the tour.

Right after Ganguly’s interview, Sharma surprised everyone when he walked out for the toss against the Sunriser Hyderabad. During the toss, Sharma said that “Looks like I’m fit and fine”.

Mumbai, however, decided to rest a few of their key players which indeed backfired for them as they suffer a 10-wicket loss against Sunrisers.

Right after the match during the post-match presentation, Sharma said that his hamstring is fine.

Sharma said, “I was happy to be back, it’s been a while. I’m looking forward to playing few more games here, let’s see what happens. It (hamstring) is fine, absolutely”.

Reflecting on the loss, he added that it was the team’s worst performance ever in the season.
“Not the day we want to remember, probably our worst performance of the season. We wanted to try a few things, it didn’t go our way,” he said.
“We knew dew was going to play a factor and we wanted to take the toss out of consideration, but we didn’t play good cricket today,” he observed.

“It’s a very funny format. It’s always nice to forget what has happened and focus on the present. They (Delhi) are a good side, so it will be a good challenge to face them,” Rohit added.

Mumbai Indians finished the league stages on top and will take on Delhi Capitals in the Qualifier 1. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad, who won the match by 10 wickets, will take on Royal Challengers Bangalore in the eliminator.
