41 Women Cricketers sign full-time domestic contract

Women’s cricket have been making massive strides in the British nation. With the “Hundred” scheduled to take place in 2021, There is some more good news for domestic women players.

A recruitment process was carried out by 8 regions and their respective Regional Directors of Women’s Cricket. They’ve finalized to give 41 players a full term domestic contract. Earlier this year, 25 players signed regional retainers. According to today announcement, 16 new players have been added.

ECB Managing Director of Women’s Cricket, Clare Connor, said: “We’re delighted that these 41 young women are able to call themselves full-time professional cricketers and we wish them every success. 

“The introduction of these 41 professional players, in addition to our 17 Centrally Contracted England Women’s players is the most significant step forward for the women’s game in recent years.
