Australia finally wins one!

The conditions encouraged Steve Smith to bowl first upon winning the toss. The hosts rested Mitchell Starc and England lost Liam Plunkett due to a hamstring injury in the third match in Sydney, with Tom Curran called in.

The turf combined with the weather made things awkward for the England batsmen early on. Hazlewood and Cummins knocked the England batters out. At one point, England was 8/5. Fortunate for the visitors, they bat deep. As the conditions changed, Moeen Ali and Morgan added a 50 stand. Woakes played another excellent innings in vastly different conditions than the first three matches. Though he fell short of a century, he along with Curran gave something for the bowlers to challenge the hosts.

Chasing 197, Australia lost three wickets in quick succession. Travis Head, who was promoted to open the innings watched wickets tumble from the other end. He fell four runs short of his century, and he drove Australia near home. At the end, The nervous Paine and the new bloke Tye gave the hosts a consolation win.
