England tour to New Zealand to fill World Cup 2021 void; Tash Farrant recalled

New Zealand will be hosting England for the first time since 2015 as the preparation for the World Cup gets away on February 23. There will be three ODIs and as many as T20Is.

New Zealand were supposed to host the World Cup this year, but the tournament was postponed due to coronavirus pandemic and will be taking place in 2022.

The series literally will fill in the void, and the final of the series will take place on the date when the final of the World Cup was supposed to happen.

Here is the series schedule-

February 23: 1st ODI, New Zealand v England- Hagley Oval, 1 am GMT
February 26: 2nd ODI, New Zealand v England- University of Otago Oval, 10 pm GMT
February 28: 3rd ODI, New Zealand v England- University of Otago Oval, 10 pm GMT

March 3: 1st T20I, New Zealand v England- Sky Stadium, 2 am GMT
March 5: 2nd T20I, New Zealand v England- Eden Park, 2 am GMT
March 7: 3rd T20I, New Zealand v England- Bay Oval, 11 pm GMT

England have announced the squad for the series and Tash Farrant has been recalled to the squad for the first time since she had lost her central contract in 2019. Tash Farrant will be replacing injured Anya Shrubsole.
