Shafali Verma to play for Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred

Indian cricketer Shafali Verma has joined Birmingham Phoenix and will play under New Zealand skipper Sophie Devine.

Shafali is the fifth player to receive NOC by BCCI to join the Hundred.

The other four Indian cricketers are Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues.

The world number one T20I batter was one of the stars in South Africa series and when asked about her training during the pandemic, she said that she was practicing alongside men’s team and had thanked Haryana cricket Association for the same.

Phoenix will also feature Australian all-rounder Ellyse Perry.
