Archer talks about his bouncer that knocked Smith off

During the second Test of the Ashes series at the Lord’s, the debutant Archer’s bouncer went on to hit Smith at his neck, and it caused ‘delayed concussion’. It ruled Smith out from the match.

Talking about the bouncer, Archer said that he didn’t enjoy sending Smith off.
“To see him go down, everyone stopped and everyone’s heart skipped a beat. After he got up he was moving around and you breathe a sigh of relief. No-one wants to see anyone getting carried off on a stretcher,” he said.

Smith then came back to continue his innings to add a few runs before getting out at 92. England then went on to set 267 as the target for the visitors. The match then ended on a draw as Australia held their wickets at the end.
