Mike Hesson has been appointed as the Director of Cricket Operations of RCB whereas Simon Katich has been appointed as the head coach.
On August 23, RCB announced through a press release that the team had parted ways with Gary Kirsten, bowling coach Ashish Nehra.
Sanjeev Churiwala, Chairman of Royal Challengers Bangalore, thanked both Kirsten and Nehra for their contribution to the team and said that they had left behind a legacy.
He also added, “We are very happy to announce the appointment of Mike Hesson and Simon Katich. We believe that Mike’s extensive experience in building strong teams along with Simon’s powerful cricket experience will help us create a winning culture”.
Hesson was former associated with Kings XI Punjab team, and he also came close to coach the Indian Men’s cricket team but lost the battle to Ravi Shastri.
