Pankaj Advani and Aditya Mehta wins World Team Snooker title

The Indian team consisting of Pankaj Advani and Aditya Mehta overcame Pongsakorn C. and Poramin D. in a tough battle to win World Team Snooker Title on Wednesday.

Pankaj Advani now has jawdropping 23 Grand Slams to his name, and in the last two weeks, he has won two grand slams and a bronze.

For Aditya Mehta, this is his first Grand Slam and it has come at the right time because the 33-year-old had health issues, blame his neck injury which kept him away from the game for a long time.

India started well, thanks to Mehta but Advani couldn’t keep up the momentum. Then Mehta who showed his best skills gave India the lead once again and this time Advani did well to extend the lead, helped Mehta to finish off the proceedings.

This is another Grand Slam which was left in Pankaj’s list. The legend now will move to Australia for the long format of the World Billiards Championship which starts in the first week of October.

Earlier, Laxman Rawat claimed the World 6 Red title, defeating former World snooker champion Muhammad Asif of Pakistan 6-5 here on Saturday.
