IND v SA, 3rd Test: India win by an innings and 202 runs

South Africa was no answer to the Indian bowlers once again as the hosts rattled the visitors by an innings and 202 runs.

India after opting to bat first, found comfort in the partnership of Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma, who with their experience steadied the ship that almost sank when South Africa dismissed three of the Indian batters.

Rohit Sharma’s 212 had help from Rahane’s 115 and Jadeja’s 51 but the show-stealer was Umesh Yadav who swung the bat for good, scored 31 off 10 deliveries with five sixes.

India then declared at 497/9 and came back to destroy South African batters who managed only 162 with only three players getting into the double figures, debutant Hamza top-scored with 62.

Following on, South Africa only again became the victim of some good bowling from the Indian bowlers who went on to finish off the match.

The match also witnessed a concussion substitute when Dean Elgar was hit by a bouncer from Umesh Yadav. De Bruyn replaced him and scored a well-managed 30.

Among the Indian bowlers, Nadeem did impress everyone on his debut. Going forward, it is a great sign for the Indian team.
