David Willey to miss IPL due to personal reasons

The England all-rounder David Willey has withdrawn from the ongoing Indian Premier League due to personal reasons.

Willey, who is awaiting the birth of his second child will not play for Chennai Super Kings this year as his wife Carolynne is having a tough time out there.

The Yorkshire player said, “My wife’s had a bit of a tough time, so I’m having to make sure she’s alright”.

“Chennai was very understanding and very supportive as Yorkshire have been as well.”

“It’s never an easy decision. But, nonetheless, it’s the right decision, he added.

Now, Chennai Super Kings have lost two of their overseas option- Lungi Ngidi and David Willey. It will be interesting to see if they sign for any replacement which is still unsure.
