Rafa Nadal leads Spain to Davis Cup title

Rafa Nadal’s great 2019 continued on Sunday as the Spaniard led his team to an excellent win to lift the Davis Cup title for 6th time.

He beat Denis Shapovalov to seal victory over Canada in Madrid’s Caja Magica.

Earlier on Sunday, Roberto Bautista Agut edged past Felix Auger-Aliassime 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, ensuring Nadal’s 6-3, 7-6 (9-7) win over Shapovalov gave Spain an unassailable 2-0 lead in the revamped tournament.

Nadal ends the year as the world number one, he won two Grand Slam titles, made it to the final of Australian Open, and the semi-final of the Wimbledon.

Most importantly, he married his longtime girlfriend this year.
