IND v WI, 3rd T20I: Indian batters rips Windies apart!

Wankhede witnessed one of the best performances of the Indian batters in T20I as they thumped West Indies by 67 runs.

Opting to bowl first on a flat wicket, West Indies bowlers were inaccurate and it was just too easy for the Indian batters. It was Rohit Sharma who created the platform for Virat Kohli to unleash himself and KL Rahul once again proved his worth by yet another gem of an innings.

Rohit Sharma had 5 sixes and 6 fours for his 71 and KL Rahul got to his third consecutive 90+ score at the Wankhede stadium. Unfortunately, he fell ten runs short of a ton.

The show-stealer once again was Virat Kohli who played as if he is from the parallel universe. He smashed 7 sixes and four fours for his 70 from 29 deliveries.

For West Indies, it was just too much to handle. Chasing 241, they needed Lewis badly but the opener injured his knees while fielding and did not bat. Lewis absence did affect the Windies team who fell short of 67 runs.

Their batters tried too much and lost quick wickets. Hetmyer and Pollard produced a good partnership to stable the innings a bit but it was not enough. Pollard’s 68 off 39 took the visitors to 173 in their 20 overs.

For India, both Shami and Kuldeep Yadav who were back to the playing XI, picked up two wickets so did Chahar and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

In the end, India wraps up another series under the captaincy of Virat Kohli.
