IPL Auction: Youngest player is 14, oldest is 48!

Yes, you read that right. 14-year-old Noor Ahmad from Afghanistan is the youngest player in the auction whereas, Pravin Thambe who is 48 now is the oldest.

Pravin Thambe is a known face when it comes to Indian cricket. Thambe debuted in IPL at the age of 41 and even in the IPL 2018, he was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, he did not play a single game in the season.

Now, Thambe is back to the auction and is in the verge of becoming the oldest player to play IPL. The record he holds along with Brad Hogg as both the cricketers represented a team at the age of 45.

Thambe recently had a decent T10 tournament where he picked up 5/15 with the wickets of Eoin Morgan, Kieron Pollard and Fabien Allen, Chris Gayle and Upul Tharanga.

Tambe is the only player in his 40s in the IPL auction shortlist. The next oldest person is Fawad Ahmed, 38.

Coming to Noor Ahmad, he is a spin sensation and is all set to follow the footsteps of his teammates Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman.

Prayas Ray Barman is the youngest player to play IPL at the age of 16.

The IPL auction will take place on December 19th and 332 names will go under the hammer, of whom 73 will be picked by the eight teams.
