Rafa Nadal’s strong show dismantles Hugo Dellien in straight sets

Nadal knows how to bring the best in him, doesn’t he?
Dellien wasn’t as normal as the scores reveal. In fact, he had his moments when he broke Nadal not once but twice. However, he didn’t show enough skills to bring the World Number One down or even to keep toe-to-toe with the legend. Unfortunately, not many have that. Hey, you are talking about the World’s current best player here.

Nadal finished the first two sets 6-2 and 6-3 but the best show from him came in the final set where he cut loose, had many winners and tried to keep the point as short as possible, thanks to the winners he was producing. It was such day for Nadal that whatever he was hitting was finding the lines. He was quick as usual and was striking the balance between the delicate touches and the powerful winners.

The shot of the day was the passing shot, a slice, he produced to everyone’s surprise. It was super elegant and beautiful from the Spaniard.

The third set went his way completely as he finished off 6-0. This wasn’t something Dellien deserved considering how good he was early in the match. However, this is World Number one, everybody and he is here to win yet another Grand Slam.

On the other hand, India’s Prajnesh Gunneswaran went down in straight sets against Tatsuma Ito who will face Novak Djokovic in his second round.
