Sania Mirza wins Hobart International on come back after 2 years

Indian superstar Sania Mirza who is back to tennis after a two-year maternity break wins Hobart International doubles title.

Partnering with Nadiia Kichenok, she defeated the No.2 seeds Shaui Peng and Shuai Zhang 6-4, 6-4 in the final on Saturday.

This is certainly a dream start for the former world number one considering the Olympics is just months away.

This is Sania’s first title since 2017 Brisbane International trophy with American partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands.

Sania did not compete on the WTA circuit in the entirety of 2018 and 2019 seasons to start a family with husband Shoaib Malik.
