IND v NZ, 4th T20I: Yet another super over, same heartbreaking result for New Zealand

Well, what are the odds? New Zealand enters yet another super over in two matches and they end up on the losing side in both matches.

India rightly gave rest to a few of their players whereas, New Zealand missed the services of Kane Williamson who was out due to injury.

India batted first and lost Sanju Samson early. Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Shivam Dube didn’t disturb the scoreboard much as well. However, the partnership between KL Rahul and Manish Pandey got India back to the track. Pandey stayed till the end, batted with the tail and stood unbeaten at 50, taking the team total to 165.

Batting next, New Zealand was having it easy, thanks to the commanding performances from Colin Munro (64) and Tim Seifert(57). At one point, the team was needing only 36 off 30 deliveries.

New Zealand then needed only seven runs from 6 deliveries and they had Ross Taylor and Seifert batting. However, they jinxed it, lost multiple wickets and could only tie the match.

Going into the second super over in a row, New Zealand managed to score 14 off Bumrah’s over. In return, KL Rahul started with a six and a four, making things easier for the team. After his dismissal, Kohli kept his cool, took the team over the finish line to give India 4-0 lead.
