Tri-series, 2nd T20I, ENG v AUS: England sees past the hosts in super over

Yet another super over in the T20I cricket and this time it was the clash between two superpowers, England and Australia.

Batting first, England had both Amy Jones and Dani Wyatt failing to convert the start they had and things were once again fell under the responsibility of the captain, Heather Knight.

Knight once again hammered the bowling attack, started from where she left against the Indian team. She managed to score 78 off 45 and had a good partnership with Fran Wilson who managed to play the anchor role for Knight, scored 39. The team managed to reach 156 in their 20 overs.

For Australia, the pick of the bowlers was undoubtedly Ellyse Perry who managed to produce 18 dot balls and gave away just nine runs, picked up a wicket.

In return, Australia had Mooney playing Mooney kind of innings, scoring 65 off 45. However, after her dismissal, England bounced back to pick up wickets in quick succession, transferred the pressure back to the hosts.

The turning point of the match was the guts of 18 years old Sutherland, who slapped four fours in Brunt’s over, taking the match closer on her debut.

Kimmince then joined the party with a brilliant hitting. Australia then needed 12 off the final over and needed 3 off the final delivery. The hosts managed to pick up two, tied the match.

In the super over, Australia managed to pick only 8 runs and in return, Knight after facing two quite deliveries, smashed two fours off Perry to take England home safe.
