Archana Kalpathi, an epitome to “down to earth”

Archana Kalpathi.

If there is a line that could talk about her, it will be “Down to earth”. Imagine working 18 to 19 hours a day, coming back from the work and being there for the family. She does it all and does it all with that glowing smile on her face.

I have never seen her losing that smile whatever may be the situation. The way she handles the pressure in this society is definitely inspiring.

Of course, she came in with a background but believe me, it is not easy. To survive in the industry which is dominated by the men. Still, she handles them all with ease.

Being in the industry for more than 14 years, now, things are easier for her. Imagine those days. Imagine the time when she entered the theatre business. Nobody would have taken her seriously and look where she is now.

We live in a social media world where abusing, body-shaming, stereotyping are all easy for the keyboard warriors. I don’t even have to mention how stupid so-called haters behave when a Vijay movie (or Ajith movie) get released. The negativity is super high. It takes a special quality to ignore them all and do what one is doing. Maybe, that’s why Archana is in the place where she is now.

While I admired a lot of qualities in her, the best of all is how she treats her competition in the business. I saw her hugging, talking high of her ‘work rivals’ and certainly did serve as an example of how work is different from normal life.

Also, I remember how she goes the distance as the CEO of AGS Cinemas to know about the fan experience which she puts first.

Despite achieving so much, I haven’t seen a person who is so warm and this down to earth. She certainly is an example of how to handle both success and failure in life.

–Recently, I had an opportunity to do a cover story on her life. Here are my takeaways–

“Failures are important in everyone’s life, and if you are not facing it, it is not easy for you to taste success. Failures are just a learning phase”

“A woman should never lose her self-confidence and her identity in whatever she does. It is important for her to do things that make her happy”

“Wear your confidence.”

Happy Birthday, ma’am, thanks for being such an inspiration to all of us out there. Cannot wait for Bigil.
