Sarfaraz Ahmed sacked from T20I, Test captaincy; Babar, Azhar to take over!

Pakistan Cricket Board has come up with a decision to sack Sarfaraz Ahmed from the T20I and the Test captaincy. They have also dropped him for the upcoming Australian tour.

This move comes after the team suffered a home defeat against Sri Lanka a few days ago.

With no doubts, Azhar Ali is the current best Test player in the Pakistan team. The cricketer also decided to quit ODIs to concentrate on the longer format of the game.

On the other hand, Babar Azam will take over as the T20I captain. The World Number one cricketer was appointed as the vice-captain during the Sri Lanka series.

Under Sarfaraz Ahmed, Pakistan won the Champions Trophy and reached World Number one in the T20I ranking. Having said that, the team also failed largely under his captaincy. Also, his batting didn’t go well too.

It will be interesting to see how the new captains prevail. Especially, Babar Azam who is the biggest hope for the Pakistan cricket in the T20I World Cup.
