Asian Athletic Championships: Swapna Barman and others takes India’s tally to 13!


India’s Swapna Barman and the 4x400m relay team won silvers on Tuesday as the Indian team took its medal tally to 13 at the end of the third day in Doha.

Sanjivani Jadhav was the third Indian medallist of the day as she clinched bronze in the women’s 10,00m race.

Swapna Barman who became the first Indian to win a heptathlon did not do well in her Javelin Throw and she paid the price of losing the Gold medal and settled for Silver.

India’s second silver medal of the day came when the mixed relay team of Muhammed Anas, M. R. Poovamma, V.K. Vismaya and Arokia Rajiv clocked 3:16.47s to finish second in the 4x400m event.

India’s third medal of the day came from Long-distance runner Sanjivani who did well to grab the medal in the 10,000m race.
