India began their 3rd Test against Australia in Sydney Cricket Ground on Thursday.
Australia went on to win the toss and had opted to bat first. During the National Anthem, Indian cricketer Mohammad Siraj couldn’t control his tears as he is playing the first Test series for India.
Siraj, who made his debut in Melbourne Test, did well there to earn a place in the 3rd Test at Sydney. He soon went on to control his emotions and dismissed David Warner early in the innings.
Siraj decided to stay to fulfil his late father’s dream and continued to impress.
“It was my (late) father’s dream that Siraj should represent India in Tests … he always wanted to see him (Siraj) in blue and white jersey to represent the nation, so our dream got fulfilled today,” Mohammed Ismail, Siraj’s brother had told PTI from Hyderabad after the fast bowler had made his debut last month.
