According to reports, Kumar Sangakkara has been appointed as the director of cricket of Rajasthan Royals.
RR’s co-owner Manoj have confirmed the same to ESPN and he also confirmed that Sanju Samson will be leading the team in IPL 2021.
IPL 2020 captain Steve Smith has been released by the side because of his poor performance with the bat and the team had failed to qualify for the playoffs last season. In fact, they ended the season at the bottom of the table.
Sanju Samson, who is currently the captain of Kerala in on going Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will take up the captaincy role.
