Brunt-Sciver wedding postponed due to Coronavirus

England cricketing duo Katherine Brunt and Natalie Sciver, who were supposed to get married this September, have postponed their marriage plans due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

Speaking to BBC Sport Brunt said that they are waiting until they can get their friends, family and teammates for the wedding.

“At the minute we’re looking into a registry office. I know it’s corny and all that, but it’s nice,” she said.

“We’re going to wait until you can have a minimum of 10 people there and make it just a really nice, cute, personal get together. That takes all the pressure off trying to make it happen when the future is completely unknown.”

Earlier, they had planned their wedding in accordance with the international schedule they had for England. However, due to Coronavirus outbreak they had to change it again.

Ever since they came back from the T20 World Cup in Australia, the duo has stay put at home. “We didn’t leave the house – we went to the Tesco four times in the first month and that was it. It was a bit weird,” Sciver said.

England women are set to return for training next week and Lisa Keightley, England’s head coach, has been slated to train with the couple who would be continuing their training from home.

“Lisa has to keep her distance, but she’s the only one that can handle the balls. So that’s going to be great for her – we’ll smash it and she has to fetch it. She’ll be livid,” Brunt said cheekily.
