Chris Gayle blames Ramnaresh Sarwan for leaving Jamaica Tallawalahs

The Universe Boss of cricket Chris Gayle has slammed his former teammate Ramnaresh Sarwan for the reason behind leaving Jamaica Tallawalahs in Caribbean Premier League.

Speaking in a video released in his YouTube channel, Gayle called Sarwan a “snake” and said he is “worse than Coronavirus”. He said it was Sarwan who turned the owners against after Gayle signed a three-year contract in 2019.

“Sarwan, you are worse than the Coronavirus right now. What transpired with the Tallawahs, you have a big part to play because you and the owner are like this. You were the one at my last birthday party here in Jamaica on the platform giving big speech (about) how far we coming from. Sarwan, you are a snake. You are so vindictive. You are so immature. You still stabbing people in the back. You’re still carrying news. When are you planning to change?”

He went on to say that the ties between him and Sarwan has ended forever. “Don’t even consider seeing the Universe Boss and saying ‘Yow Chris’ because I am telling you this straight up, that’s it.”

He accused Sarwan that the former teammate wanted to take over as head coach. “When I left the Tallawahs it was a high-spirited team and the amount of complaints I get when I wasn’t there. The amount of problems they had with Sarwan. (Andre) Russell was the captain at the time; the amount of problems Sarwan and the captain have, keeping meetings behind the captain’s back and these sort of things.”

“Sarwan wanted to put a curfew on the players when the games were 8 ‘o’clock at night. He wanted to know why there were so many Jamaicans on the team. You take it upon yourself and say too many Jamaicans on the team. I told Sarwan directly that ‘Sarwan, you have no experience being a head coach. It is not an easy job,” he said.

Gayle also reminded about how Sarwan had a role in sending Gayle home in a youth tournament at Barbadosway back in 1996. He said that Sarwan complained to Gus Logie that he wasn’t able to sleep as Gayle was watching Television late into the night.

He, however, acknowledged that Sarwan was one of the reasons and the fact that he accepted invitation from Guyana’s Minister of State Joseph Harmon didn’t go well with the owners of Jamaica Tallawalahs.

“This is all coming from one visit to Guyana. Apparently, Guyana had their election and the minister invited me to his community and the other side, which the owner is a part of as well, got offended and they all take it personal,” Gayle said. He clarified that he has nothing against the owners, saying that Chris Persaud is a good person.
