CSA Women’s Super League-Thistles vs Starlights: Thistles win by 11 runs

In the 1st match of CSA Women’s Super League tournament, Thistles have managed to pull off an 11-run win over the Starlights.

Thistles, who batted first, lost wickets at regular intervals, thanks to Masabata Klaas who grabbed three wickets and gave away just 16 runs. Anneke Bosch batted well but constantly ran out of partners as she made a brilliant fifty, ended up scoring 51. She had a tiny partnership with Eliz-Mari Marx who made 21* and helped the team to reach 100 from their 20 overs.

In return, some brilliance in bowling saw the team rattle the top order of the Starlights. Khayakazi Mathe led the bowling attack by picking up three wickets and gave away just 16. Nobulumko Baneti and Tumi Sekhukune had two wickets each while Shabnim Ismail picked up one.

After losing the top-order, Starlights bounced back with the partnership between Khushi Mistry(34*) and Tatum Le Roux(20) but it was too late as the team managed only 89 from their 20 overs.
