Experts committee recommends extended lockdown for TN

Reports are coming in that the 19-member Expert Committee set up by the Tamil Nadu government has recommended a 14 days extension of lockdown in the state owing to the Corona outbreak.

Yesterday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami had said that decision will be made based on the recommendations of the expert committee.

Earlier today, it was announced that the cabinet ministers meeting headed by Chief Minister will be conducted tomorrow evening.

With the number of corona positive cases crossing 800 yesterday, Palaniswami had said that the rapid test kits are expected to arrive by Thursday night and the state is planning to begin testing soon.

In a most likely scenario, the decision on lockdown based on the recommendations of the expert committee will be announced after the tomorrow meeting.
