England cricketer Zak Crawley caught many eyes with his performance in the ongoing Test match against Pakistan. He batted for hours for his brilliant 267 in the first innings.
Along with Jos Buttler, Crawley added a record partnership for the sixth wicket, to put England onto a great position.
Crawley’s score is the second-highest maiden Test ton by an England batter in Test cricket and Karun Nair’s 303 not out is the only higher maiden century in the last 25 years.
He is also the third-youngest England batter to score a double hundred, only behind batting greats Len Hutton and David Gower.
Twitter erupted in praise for the young cricket and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly joined as well.
He wrote: “England have found a very good No. 3 in Crawley,” Ganguly tweeted during the innings. “Looks a class player… hope to see him in all formats regularly.”
Meanwhile, in the second innings, England bowlers have followed it up with good performance and Pakistan are currently finding themselves in trouble after getting out for 273. Anderson’s five-fer rattled the batting order. The only good thing that came out from this innings for the visitors is Azhar Ali. The captain had hit the rich patch after years. Also, keeper Rizwan who got to his second fifty.
