I can definitely learn from Ashwin: GOAT Lyon

The Australian spinner Nathan Lyon ahead of the World Test Championships said that he watches footages of Ashwin bowling in England and added that he can definitely learn from him.

“I have watched a lot of footage of Ravi Ashwin actually, bowling over here last year and in the tours that he has been here, how effective he has been. In my eyes, he is one of the offies going around. I can definitely learn from watching how he goes about it here in England,” Lyon told Mumbai Mirror in an interview.

Lyon and Ashwin undoubtedly are two of the best finger spinners in the world and has been doing well in the longer format of the game for a while now.

Lyon, who is currently the fourth most successful bowler for Australia in Tests, will look to move above the legendary Dennis Lillee at the end of the Ashes.

This suddenly reminded me of Sunil Gavaskar’s quote, “Ashwin certainly has picked up a thing or two from Nathan Lyon.”
