I personally feel MS Dhoni should play for India: Kuldeep Yadav

Indian spinner Kuldeep Yadav said that MS Dhoni’s retirement should be left to him and he personally want Dhoni to play for India again.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, the KKR spinner said that he misses Dhoni’s presence in the team and it would be easier for the team if he plays. However, Kuldeep added that retirement is Dhoni’s personal decision and it should be left to him to decide on it.

“As far as his retirement is concerned, it is MS Dhoni’s decision and it should be left to him. There is no point for us to debate on that. He is very fit and I personally feel he should play for India. As a fan, I absolutely love him. If he plays, it would be easier for us.”

The last time Dhoni donned India colours was in the 2019 World Cup semifinal. Since then he has stayed away from cricket.

The 2020 IPL was seen as a platform for Dhoni to make a comeback and see whether he can play in the T20 World Cup which is supposed to be played in September this year. However, former India cricketer and Dhoni’s CSK teammate Harbhajan Singh said in an Instagram chat with Rohit Sharma that he thinks Dhoni doesn’t want to play for India again.

With the COVID-19 pandemic putting a halt to the cricketing world, one can only speculate about the future of the former Indian captain. What he thinks about his retirement will remain a mystery as it has always been.
