“I will continue to open”, Rohit Sharma confirms

Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma in his recent interview had confirmed that he will be opening the innings for Mumbai Indians but will keep his options open.

“I opened the entire tournament last year and I will continue to do that. Again I keep all the options open. Whatever the team wants, happy to do that.

“Even when I play for India, message from my side to the management has always been the same ‘do not close any doors, keep all the options open’ and I will do the same here as well,” he said.

In the interview, he also spoke about missing Lasith Malinga. He said that Malinga was Mumbai Indians’ match-winner and is impossible to fill his void even though the team has some of the exciting talents.

The defending champions Mumbai Indians will take on Chennai Super Kings in the first match of the IPL 2020 on September 19th.
